Blood, Sweat, Tears, and a Book Release

The older I get, I realize the less I know – especially about myself! In a little over a week, I’m celebrating the release of my 8th Middle Grade novel – Destruction of Wild Cats!

Wild Cats 2 EB

8th novel…wow! When this journey began all those years ago (I’ve honestly lost count) my goal was to create a book that my students could read, would enjoy and maybe even learn something from – Murder of Crows. Since then, I’ve shared Kobi’s story, along with Sugar’s, and the four book Cryptozoology series of what really happens in the wilds of the Florida swamps.

Destruction of Wild Cats will come out in time for Halloween and then the fifth and final book of the Crypto series, Into Amethyst Mists will be out in December.

What then? I honestly don’t know. There is one more ghost story rolling around in my head, at least one more horse story (maybe two) – and I’m kicking some ideas around for a historical romance (gasp!) as well as turning the crypto series into a screenplay…But enough about me…what would you like to read next? It only takes a little blood, a lot of sweat, and some tears to get the next one out!

About Heather Hamel

Growing up with horses is a little girls dream come true. Heather’s dream in life was to be a horse trainer - how dreams change - sort of! She moved to the wonderfully historic town of St. Augustine, Florida and was a historic tour guide and a ghost story teller while putting herself through college to become a special education teacher. After graduating, she felt the pull of horses in her life again. That's when she met Kobi! She learned quickly that when you own horses you become a part time vet, part time nutritionist, and full time equestrian. She wouldn't change a thing! In addition to being completely obsessed with her herd, she still teaches and tutors students with learning disabilities, and more specifically, dyslexia.
