Charleston – Postponed

On our way to Charleston, we hit severe storms.  Some so bad we had to drop our speed to the 20’s and turn on our flashing hazard lights.

Pulling up the weather every few minutes, we made the decision that due to the nasty weather and threat of worse storms in Charleston, to postpone that leg of our trip until the end of the month when the weather improved and we could enjoy our trip much more – as long as another tropical weather system isn’t threatening our coast.

After a ten-hour drive (that should have only been about eight) we pulled back in to St. Augustine and the Triple H Ranch.

While traveling is fun, there’s no place like home!

My first stop was the barn.  The horses were still in from dinner and the rain and Kobi welcomed me by licking my hands and arms.  It was good to be home.

About Heather Hamel

Growing up with horses is a little girls dream come true. Heather’s dream in life was to be a horse trainer - how dreams change - sort of! She moved to the wonderfully historic town of St. Augustine, Florida and was a historic tour guide and a ghost story teller while putting herself through college to become a special education teacher. After graduating, she felt the pull of horses in her life again. That's when she met Kobi! She learned quickly that when you own horses you become a part time vet, part time nutritionist, and full time equestrian. She wouldn't change a thing! In addition to being completely obsessed with her herd, she still teaches and tutors students with learning disabilities, and more specifically, dyslexia.
