Nashville – Day Two (Shopping)

Day two in Nashville dawned clear and hot and I apologize in advance for the long blog – we were very busy.

After a large Cracker Barrel breakfast, we headed to Greece – The Parthenon:

day 1 014

It was incredible!  According to Toni, scenes from Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief was filmed there.

From there we headed downtown to look for boots.  After getting lost several times looking for parking on 2nd Avenue, we finally found what we were looking for – The District!  And spectacular boots for Toni:

day 1 019

After cooling off at the hotel room, we went out to dinner and then out to…

day 1 025

I’ll be honest, I had no idea that it was a live radio broadcast and they had 5 or 6 different bands performing.  It’s no secret I’m not the biggest country music fan, but figured it was a once in a lifetime opportunity (and you never know when something can come back as part of one of my novels).  It was just okay until a bluegrass band came on – I love the energy of good bluegrass.  The Del McCoury Band was incredible.  The night ended watching another fantastic group, The Band Perry.

I can’t wait to see what we do Thursday when we start the day in Nashville and end it in Asheville!

About Heather Hamel

Growing up with horses is a little girls dream come true. Heather’s dream in life was to be a horse trainer - how dreams change - sort of! She moved to the wonderfully historic town of St. Augustine, Florida and was a historic tour guide and a ghost story teller while putting herself through college to become a special education teacher. After graduating, she felt the pull of horses in her life again. That's when she met Kobi! She learned quickly that when you own horses you become a part time vet, part time nutritionist, and full time equestrian. She wouldn't change a thing! In addition to being completely obsessed with her herd, she still teaches and tutors students with learning disabilities, and more specifically, dyslexia.

  1. Mom says:

I was hoping you’d pick the Opry I knew you’d enjoy it. Tell tony cool boots and she’ll have such a story to go along with them, making them really special.
