After a fun-filled weekend in St. Petersburg at the Historical Novel Society conference and with my west-coast cousins, it’s good to be home.
I pitched to literary agent, Natalia Aponte, who requested full manuscripts of both Kobi’s story and Murder of Crows! What a rush – that alone would have made the weekend worthwhile. I also volunteered to help with agent pitches, making sure others made it in and out of their sessions smoothly. I met some amazing people.
I also met one of my all time favorite authors, Diana Gabaldon. She was quite lovely and very approachable.
I won a drawing for a gift basket from a debut author, Marci Jefferson, which started my Sunday off on a wonderful note!
After a poolside lunch with my cousins, we went to their barn and I shared some knowledge and many opinions about horse gut sounds, pawing, and keeping their horse, Sinister, moving forward and passed ‘mom’ when Rachel is riding.
It was a great weekend – but nothing beats coming home to Les meeting me at the door, Kobi’s loving nicker, and Cuzzin knocking me down with his wagging tail.
